Last monday afternoon I found that I had so much pain in my left knee that I
couldn’t walk. A friend who’s working on renovating our kitchen took me to
Family Medicine. They exrayed my knee and found a huge sisst behind my left
knee. The doctor scheduled an appointment for 1 PM this afternoon, when she
had access to an ultra sound machine. She prescribed some killer pain meds and
sent me home. I was able to get round the house on my computer chair which has
wheels. So this afternoon i went back to family meds, and she drained the
sisst in the back of my left knee. She drained 10 CCs of fluid, and 5 CCs out
of the front knee. She injected pain meds with steroids. I’m now able to walk
normally again. But once this procedures failed to work, than I’m a candidate
for knee surgery. Oh yes, I have arthritis in my right knee also. But till it
starts bothering me, we won’t do anything about it.
Damn! it’s sure a drag getting old.
