Hey guys, love them both Lisa.....Hmmmmm interesting on the wearing letters away cause I got this pair of MS-1000 wireless set 2yrs ago (one fo each work station) & no noticeable wear & I used the old IBM clicky KB forever. Broke 2 or 3 of them & never noticed any wear but if the Lisa theory is spot on, it is because I don't play the guitar or quilt or facebook or twitter or G-docs. I wonder just what it is that I do every day. Maybe I should search for a life. I would ask Google but since they know everything I am afraid to ask I really like the MS KB, IMHO they don't do OSes wuf a hoot but they do KBs good, had to be good to pry me away from the good old clicky after from 1994. I still have 2 new ones wrapped in the closet just in case. I think I have switched though..... hard to imagine going back to fighting the durn wires, this is verry cool. hh (Herb) On Thursday, April 5, 2012 00:42, "Don Crowder" <dondashguitar@xxxxxxxxx> said: On 04/04/2012 08:39 PM, Sandy Martin wrote: Hi Don & Lisa, I always get a kick out of that chocolate bunny cartoon, too. I think it is nice that you two can take a break and 'play with computers' once in a while. I am amazed at all you get done. I still am laughing about your comment about having too many irons in the fire and then the fire goes out. Web junkie...perhaps that is what I am, except not to the extent that you two are. Mostly I spend time on my quilting sites plus I am indexing for the 1940 census now, too. That takes at least an hour of my time every day. I figure, every little bit helps. If you aren't sure what indexing means, here is a crash course. The census from 1940 came out on Monday. that means that all the images of the pages are now available on Ancestry.com. But say you want to find Uncle John Martin who lived in Podunk Nebraska. Unless you know what enumeration district he was in you will have to search through pages and pages of names. By indexing, and once it is done, all you will have to do is put in the name and town and various possibilities will come up. Sure makes it a lot simpler. Of course, there are something like 3.8 million records to index so will be a few months before all the volunteers get it done. We have to look at each page and type it in by hand. Then the computer can do something with it and voila...it is indexed. Okay..now that I have bored you I will stop. I have to admit, Lisa that much of your note had me baffled. I guess in the fact that I have no idea how to create a pdf document, much less convert it to a doc. But I am glad you are learning how to do all this stuff. I still can not get the hang of Google +. Hope that your site will be easy to access. Keep us posted. I think spring has finally come to Idaho but I am still thinking we will get more snow before it is finally nice weather for good. Guess I have just lived too long and become suspicious. I am wondering, for whoever reds this, if I am the only one who has problems with the letters fading out on my keyboards. I have to buy a new one at least once a year because finally the lettering wears clear off and I am not a good enough typist to know which key is which. I am trying to put clear fingernail polish over them but that too wears off. Anyhow, is it just me and perhaps my hand lotion?? Wishing you all a happy Easter, however you spend it. We will be driving across Wyoming headed to Denver to see my mom. She is almost 97 but is having some health problems so thought I better go see her while I still can. Would be nice if some of you readers would post a note once in a while. This is definitely a quiet board. Lisa laughs at me because I beat the numbers off my keyboard and our telephone. Her contention is that it's because my fingertips are so strong (and callused) from playing the guitar. She said to tell your that, in your case, it's because you're a quilter, which also makes your fingers strong and callused. Logitech claims the numbers won't wear off of this one... You could buy ten of these for that price... Insofar as I can see the main differences are that it's far more busy and I don't actually know my G+ contacts as well as I know my facebook contacts. Another difference, one I like, is that while I block all the games and apps on facebook (having to track them down one at a time), because I don't actually have time for them, I never see the games on G+. I don't see any apps on G+ either; don't even know if they have any. I spend more time on twitter than I do on facebook or G+ because I can log in, read a bunch of posts, respond to any that interest me and move on. If all I have is five minutes, I can still spend them on twitter, no big deal. but in the same length of time I couldn'tt even get started on facebook or G+. Best regards to all. Don
