Hi

I have two views on this.

The first is that nearly all applications will not have application
performance noticeably affected by the choice of block size. So I don't
really care that much and tend to leave everything at the default. In
general it's SQL and application design that will be your problem.

The second is that we could only give a recommendation if we knew what
filesystem if any you were using and any special characteristics of the
application as they pertain to block size (use of longs/blobs/clobs, rapidly
expanding rows, lots of small lookup tables) and so on.

cheers

Hello

we will be migrating to a AIX P5, we now have to decide on the db block
size.
I believe sticking with 8192.
Is there any recommended size?
