Yes and yes. It really is that simple. -Randy From: oracle-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:oracle-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of ed lewis Sent: Thursday, June 11, 2009 2:07 PM To: oracle-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: asm question Hello, We are currently running a 2 - node rac cluster, SE 10.2.0.4, solaris 10. ASM is being used. They are planning to move the database to a new server, and dismantle the current one. A suggestion was made , that the ASM disk groups can be configured on the new servers with very little effort. That is, shut down the current server, and have the new server point to the ASM disks. Is this something that can be done ? Has anyone done this ? thanks ed __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 4151 (20090612) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 4151 (20090612) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com
