They find out which way is supported with the OS/keyboard they are using to
create a "$" character.
It's like saying "I have a french keyboard with the é character and I create a
table with that character in the name. How will someone with a US keyboard
select from that table?"

Subject: Unusual question
I teach Oracle certification classes at a local college and a student asked me
a question that has me stumped. We were talking about the V$ views and he
asked: How do DBA's in Germany query the views when they don't have a $ on
their keyboards?
Thanks.
