There is a requirement came up to hire a Oracle DBA Sr. position . The
location is Walnut Creek , CA . A bayarea local candidate is preferred .

*Job Description: *
1. Takes the lead role in working with all types of project teams (including
analysts and business designers) to design types of databases required to
meet user needs. Designs and implements enhancements to existing databases.
2. Responsible for the ongoing tuning and optimizing of existing complex
databases. 3. Manages effective working relationships with the internal
customers from a variety of IT application areas. Interfaces with
management, IT infrastructure personnel, and other IT team members on
complex database projects. 4. Provides key expertise relevant to the more
complex databases. Develops specialized expertise in setting up databases
for analytical and operational use. Works on extended assignments to debug
or fix major database problems. 5. Develops and maintains a comprehensive
library of all supporting documentation, and initiates corrective action to
ensure all database servers meet or exceed processing requirements for
performance and reliability. 6. May be responsible for managing projects and
staff for small to medium projects. May be responsible for developing
project plans and other project documentation. 7. Performs feasibility
studies, including the economic evaluations for proposed and existing
systems. Writes business proposals recommending new or enhanced database
technologies. 8. Performs other duties as assigned or requested. Job
Specifications Req Education or Equivalent Experience • Bachelor's Degree BS
in IT, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent combination of
education and experience • Nine years of IT experience • Five to seven years
of directly related experience
*Skills: * Analysis Documentation, Data Modeling, Customer Service,
Internet Security, Database Management, ERP Systems, Web Servers, Management
of Infrastructure
*Additional Skills: *
Oracle Database 8i,9i& 10g. Experience in executing an Oracle database
restore from tape. database disaster recovery methodologies excellent SQL
and PL/SQL skills OEM & Grid Control Perl and shell scripting
