Seema I think you first need to establish why the application is running slow. Only after you understand why the application is slow can you map a strategy for improving the performance. You could run a 10046 trace as described in Cary Millsap's book. You could examine the v$ tables. You could run a STATSPACK report. Have you ever done any of these methods?
