Oracle 8.0.6 to Oracle 10g

Folks,
 
    I've done the RTFM, searched Metalink and the Oracle-L archives and
haven't found a definitive answer on the subject.  So, I'm going to ask
a simple question: Has anyone gotten an Oracle 8.0.6 client to
successfully and consistently work with an Oracle 10.2 database?   Have
a client who wants to make this work.
