Wow, some possible choices for that include...
a) Guess the correct wrong answer. ...But then you might "succeed"
in securing a job at a place that you really don't want to wake up to
every day.
b) Say honestly and humbly that you've studied this particular
aspect of Oracle pretty carefully, and you've found through careful
testing that there's a lot of myth and misinformation in this area. It
would be fun to discuss your results, because understanding this issue
more completely can make a big difference in the efficiency of the
Oracle systems you're interested in being hired to manage.
c) Say honestly and humbly that you haven't studied this
particular aspect of Oracle very carefully, but you understand from your
participation in various professional communities that this particular
"fact" is the subject of much conjecture, and that one of the things
you're particularly good at is figuring out stuff like this. It would be
fun to discuss how you test things like this, because understanding
issues like this more completely can make a big difference in the
efficiency of the Oracle systems you're interested in being hired to
manage.
I know that market conditions dictate that you make compromises
sometimes in where you have to be willing to work, and the weaker you
negotiating position, the more stuff you'll have to just put up with.
But optimally, the places that you're probably going to have the most
fun and the most success at work are the places where the interviewer is
more interested in how you think than whether you can regurgitate what
(s)he wants to hear.
