Kumar, Opatch is indeed requesting 12GB of free disk space for the PSU patch of January, which is quite high (to put it mildly). On a (clean) rac 12.1.0.2 the PSU patch took around 3 GB in the $ORACLE_HOME/.patch_storage directory. Depending on how much free space you have, you could try to run opatch with the OPatch.SKIP_VERIFY_SPACE=true parameter. If this home has been subject to upgrades, you could also run the "opatch util cleanup" command first to see how much space can safely be reclaimed by removing patch backups that are no longer relevant. See also https://blogs.oracle.com/UPGRADE/entry/grid_infrastrure_psu_jan_2015 blog post about the free space requirement Kind regards, -- Freek D'Hooge Exitas NV Senior Oracle DBA email: freek.dhooge@xxxxxxxxx tel +32(03) 443 12 38 http://www.exitas.be On vr, 2015-02-27 at 04:14 -0800, Kumar Madduri wrote: > Hello: > > I have a 12c installation Oracle restart on /u01 which is local disk > and cannot be expanded. > There is another volume /u12 which could be expanded. > For some reason, opatch needs 12G space as seen in the log file and I > would have to move the Grid home. > There is a procedure that describes on how to accomplish this for > cluster installations but nothing specific to restart (but I am pretty > sure that this wouldd work for restart as well). > I was htinking this would also work in case of Oracle restart > installation. > copy contents of /u01 to /u12 > Rename /u01 to /u01_old > and /u12 to /u01 > and bring up HAS. > The inventory path, grid home are under /u01 > Is there anything that I am missing? > > > Thank you > Kumar
