Hi List, When I took statspack report and I clearly see that my system is suffering heavily with latchfree wait problem. There were a lot of latches on library cache and cache buffers chains. Surprisingly, I found session_cached_cursors=0 value, I recently joined this company, and the problem is I can't bounce the DB as its 24*7 to change the values, so, what I did is, wrote a database logon trigger and set thses parameter value=10 as dynamically by altering session, as we are using 8.1.7.4 version. Is I am doing right or this doesn't effect? To reduce the cache buffes chains, I am figuring out what the hottest block/buffer in the cache is and why it is hot. Please recommend something.
