Hi Niall I looked at Dia last year for my Modelling On The Cheap presentation. I thought it was dreadful - dire in fact - but that was on Windows. I have been using it recently on Linux and it's a lot better. I don't whether that improvement is due to OS or OSS. Still not as good as Visio though. > Recall I asked for something > that would do physical servers and logical application design rather than > primarily an ERD tool. Ooops, I skimmed through the stack of messages this morning and picked up precisely the wrong message. Insert sheepish grin of my own here. You mean that tool I'd already downloaded and hadn't installed yet (insert smiley for sheepish grin here). So far it looks like dia is a likely candidate. Recall I asked for something that would do physical servers and logical application design rather than primarily an ERD tool. So ERD is nice, but isn't for example going to draw out for me how my DataGuard DR setup will interact either logically or physically with the existing MSCS/Oracle Failsafe HA setup!
