Why not use real-time apply instead?  Then you don't need to be concerned about 
log switches.  For more info:

Disclaimer:  I've never used real-time apply myself, but am in the process of 
setting it up for the first time right now.  If anyone has any reasons why it 
should not be used, please let me know.
