April,

Couple of thoughts for you:

Are you considering ASSM?

What size of datafiles are you and your storage team comfortable with? At
the extreme, a couple of tablespaces makes administration easy. But if you
have to do something with a multi-terrabyte tablespace, that could take a
loooong time. And recovering a single small datafile is much faster than
recovering a huge datafile.

What are the update and downtime requirements for this data warehouse? Is it
updated weekly or updated continuously? How much downtime can be tolerated
in case of a failure?
