You should always be going through APIs for the Oracle ERP modules.
There are specfic APIs for the types of different modules and things you need
to manipulate. ERP Application Dev should know this. You can seriously muck
up the dependencies especially in Financial and HR modules if you don't use the
APIs.
You should not be using Toad except to modify data, I think we only used to is
correct some Flex Field data.
If you are not sure what APIs to use you probably can either google or open an
SR to clarify.
Oracle Support won't help you much if/when they find out you update data not
using the APIs.

& if this is mandatory to use them for updating standard Tables - as I knew
that EBS will
be desupported by Oracle if standard tables updated directly by TOAD.
Also I see that most of Apps developers use TOAD with Apps & oracle
documentations assure that it is NOT recommended to use third parties like TOAD
to access & update Oracle EBS tables- but this is always done !! .... So I have
little conflicts about such used actions at most of customers.
Please can you clarify for me & give me your recommendations?
