Automation of Login Verification

Hi All,
Sorry for intruding your mail-boxes. Well I am looking for a solution wherein i
need to automate the following process of authentication -
1.Check whether the Webpage is opening
2.Login to the PHP(User login) page using some username/password and verify
if its working fine.
3.And then verify whether the form is opening without any problem.
Do we have any kind of tool to verify the login procedure?
This can be from the Server(Unix box) or say from the Client system, anything
would be fine.
