*OPS Special Events in Orlando* During each Annual Program, the OPS hosts Special Events such as the Scientific Paper Session, Awards Presentation, Welcome Reception with JJJ Raffle, the J. Donald M. Gass Memorial Lecture and the OPS Membership Meeting. This year we have added two new special events that are listed in the program: “Get to Know your Society” on Saturday from 12:30 – 1:30pm and the “20 Year Anniversary of OCT” course on Sunday from 11:00 – 12:30pm. We are also adding a few social events that weren’t ready to be released in time for the program’s printing. We hope that you can join us for these events! *OPS Photo Scavenger Hunt* Time: Friday, October 21st during OPS Welcome Reception Registration 6:30 – 7:30 Scavenger Hunt 7:45 – 9:00 Location: Ballroom B During the Welcome Reception, we will gather to create teams for the first OPS Photo Scavenger Hunt. Unlike a regular scavenger hunt where items are collected, a photo scavenger hunt has you find and photograph the objects from a list with your team in them. All of these items on the scavenger hunt will be found inside Ballroom B. To give you an idea of what your team may be hunting for: you may be asked to take a picture with an FOPS, with a first time OPS Program attendee, or with Mickey Mouse ears (it is Orlando!). Images from digital SLRs, digital point and shoot cameras and camera phones will be acceptable. Participants who complete all items on the scavenger hunt will be entered into a drawing for the grand prize! *Personal Photography Night *Hosted by: Mark Maio and Hector Mendez-Caratini Time: Saturday 7:30 – 9:00pm Location: Rosen Plaza Hotel, Room TBA Many OPS members take pictures of eyes by day and make pictures of the outside world during their nights and weekends. If you are attending the OPS Annual Program in Orlando, we welcome your personal photography submissions. This event is open to both those who are showing images and those who want to see what others are up to! We will combine all accepted entries into a slideshow and each photographer will have the opportunity to give a brief overview of their personal work. This is a great way to learn about the “other” side of many colleagues you have only known through ophthalmology. Please contact Sonya Brooker at sunshine28409@xxxxxxxxx for submission details. Act quickly! *Only the first 15 entries before October 1st will be accepted. * *OPS morning Yoga session with Ethan Priel, certified Sivananda Yoga teacher * Time: Monday 6:30 – 7:30am Location: Rosen Plaza Hotel, Room TBA Ethan will guide us through a 1-hour rejuvenating Sivananda early-morning Yoga class that will prepare our bodies and minds to better absorb and retain information during our enriching OPS lectures. Please RSVP to Ethan Priel at prieleye@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and Sarah Moyer at smoyer@xxxxxxxxx by Friday, October 7th. Suitable for all, no previous experience needed. Please bring your own mat or towel to the course. Additional information to be announced to interested members.
