I used the Equator Plus for years in the 80's
Wish I had some of those slides back!
I had a patient with Hemitonic seizures hit the lens, spring loaded, with her
hand and sent it flying across the room
End of that camera!

Denice,
In actual fact, with most sites I work with, they only disinfect after
cleaning. In many cases "if" the lens is sterilized the glue that holds the
contact cup disolves and makes the lens unusable after several sterilization
cycles. I have worked with retina guys that have been using & disinfecting
their coveted Rodenstock Pan-funduscopic since the 80's all with a viable lens
and no cases of patient post-Tx infection.
Do you remember the Myra Equator-Plus camera? It had 2 attachable contact
lenses. One utilizing an external light pipe, the other with a internal
illumination ring. We "disinfected" those lenses also. (Great images with that
camera.)
All the Best,
Dennis

Thanks Dennis!
Are you STERILIZING them or DISINFECTING them after cleaning?

Boy , are we in a quandry.
Manufacturer guidelines for sterilizing laser lenses not approved in California
( not organic enough! LOL)
Sutter driving us hard to sterilize them
The process is ruining our lenses
Thinking about disposables from Katela
Would appreciate input from those not in private practice, but hospital based
centers and/or large academic centers
How are you handling your Laser lenses- the Superquads, the 4 mirrors, etc etc
Many thanks
