A new, full-time position for an entry-level ophthalmic photographer has opened
up at the National Eye Institute's Imaging Services Section in Bethesda, MD.
This position is suitable for candidates with basic skills and limited
experience in ophthalmic imaging. It is a federal government job (GS-1060-09)
with a salary range from $53,435.00 to $69,460.00 per year.
All members of the NEI Imaging Services Section provide high-quality,
standardized, reproducible clinical ocular images and accurate image-related
data in support of the NEI Intramural Clinical Research Program. Duties of
this junior ophthalmic photographer include, but are not limited to, the
following:
*Prepare ophthalmology equipment and imaging rooms;
*Capture documentary and diagnostic electronic images using computerized
equipment;
*Apply knowledge of understanding of anatomy and physiology of the human eye to
image capture;
*Adhere to complex photographic specifications, guidelines and standard
operating procedures (SOPs) used for clinical research studies;
*Operate and navigate Electronic Medical Record (EMR) database; and
*Manage image-related data.
