My husband and I have officially applied for the Peace Corps and we hope to
leave in October. While we still haven’t received our official invitation (we
are officially nominated though), I have decided to move forward with giving my
notice to Kellogg Eye Center that I will be leaving. I hope that my last day
will be sometime in August, although that may depend on how quickly we are able
to recruit a new Director of Ultrasound. I have loved my time at Kellogg and I
could not have asked for a more supportive work environment, especially the

* Director of Ophthalmic Imaging (non-faculty, salaried position)
Description:
The University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center is a premier patient care and eye
research facility that embraces and supports imaging as a core component to its
success and mission. The chosen candidate — who ideally has a strong
combination of information technology, management, and ophthalmic photography
skill and experience — will work in a new state-of-the-art facility with full
support from the faculty and medical system for excellence in innovation,
research, and above all, dedication to the best patient care possible.
Responsibilities:
* Maintain the Kellogg Eye Center image archive database with assistance
from Michigan Center Information Technology (MCIT)
* Solve hardware and software-related problems involving all imaging
devices (including ultrasound and visual field machines) in Ann Arbor and
satellite locations
* Supervise ophthalmic photography and related staff
* Maintain professional-level quality standards
* Train new employees
* Ensure strict adherence to clinical research protocols
* Performance evaluations
* Assist with patient imaging
* Oversee imaging and audiovisual equipment maintenance and purchasing in
Ann Arbor and satellite locations
* Facilitate image and video editing for the faculty
Required qualifications:
* At least 2 years of experience involving a breadth of computer hardware
and software problem solving
* At least 2 years of experience managing a staff
* At least 4 years of experience in ophthalmic photography
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (minimum)
Desired qualifications:
* Experience with image and video editing
* Demonstrates a high level of organizational skills
* Demonstrates an ability for effective team communication
* Demonstrates effective problem solving skills
* Experience with imaging protocols for clinical research
