Thank you Peter, one of our docs (er former, MUST remember I am not their
anymore…) has invited to me to a Glenmorangie and Ardbeg tasting night next
week. They have 6 varieties of Glenmorangie to taste and one, Signet, I haven’t
heard of before, the rest I either have, or have had in my collection.
Government run public hospitals are not a nice place to work anymore I describe
it as a “sweatshop” environment. Numbers over patient welfare…..
I had several patients give me big hugs and kisses (the ladies) bawling their
eyes out that I was leaving, nice to know, I had an impact on their wellbeing
as well as health welfare. :o)
I miss the “Shaw” and the crab cakes, oyster puffs, soft shell crabs ……. BUT, I
DO HAVE OLD BAY SEASONING. :o))))) My little taste of back at my second home.
One thing I have noticed since retiring, and this is for those with not long to
go, I go to sleep at night without my brain going at a million miles per hour
with projects, issues, potential projects to set up for docs etc and I haven’t
thought about work once in a way that impacts on my wellbeing, just fleeting
thoughts, then gone. Good for the soul.
There will be some more YT vids soon, so as they say “Stay Tuned, Same bat
Time, Same Bat Channel”. ha ha ha
And as they say, Tim Bennett will back me up on this, “A bad day on the water,
is better than a GOOD day at work.”

I second that. Still remember the good times I had sampling scotches with Paul
at the Manhattan Grill in NY. I always keep at least one bottle on the boat,
the older the better, scotch that is, haha.
Congratulation to a well deserved retirement. Especially after working in a
teaching hospital under Medicare. I am sure you will not miss all the meetings,
budgets and administrative drama which comes with it... the patients maybe.
As long as you have an very active hobby, which it looks like you have you will
never look back or get bored. I am still sailing the Chesapeake (remember that
piece of water) in Summer and Bahamas, Florida Keys, etc. in winter. Being from
Austria I love skiing but don't like the cold anymore, too old for that.
