I keep my intensity at around 12 o'clock, where my knob goes up to around 4. It helps to turn it up sometimes if the print is difficult to read, but turning up my intensity all the way brings on finger fatigue faster, so I don't use it unless I'm having trouble reading something because the print is small or the contrast is poor or whatever.
