from the moderator: clearing up some misconsceptions

Helo everyone,
Judging by a few posts in the past day, I think it's time to clarify a few
points regarding this list.
1. There is only one moderator for this list and he is writing this. All list
policies are established and maintained by the moderator and suggestions in
private
email for expanding or improving policies are always welcome and will receive
an individual response. But, the final statement and enforcement of any policy
is the responsibility of the moderator.
2. This is not a moderated list, meaning that any member can post a message to
the list. I take the position that all members are responsible adults and will
conduct themselves accordingly.
3. The list moderator is not responsible for opinions expressed by others on
this list, and any opinion regarding any subject including recommendations for
Optacon repair are solely those of the poster of the message and the list has
not and will not make any official recommendations.
When people on the list read recommendations by others either negative or
positive, they should certainly be considered when a choice must be made, but
the ultimate decision must be made by the party involved, using their personal
best judgement.
4. Any attempt by individuals to act as moderator policemen should simply be
ignored as they are of no value at all.
5. If you have a problem with comments of an individual list member and wish
to discuss this with them, please take such discussions to private email.
In closing, I want to thank the 99.9 percent of the members who observe the
list policies and respect it's purpose. It's all of you who make maintaining
this
list truly worthwhile.

stated in the welcome message, please take note of the unsubscribe information
which is located at the end of each message posted to the list.
