Hello Catherine,
The screen curtain on the Iphone is to protect your privacy when it is
turned off so people can't see what you are doing. You have to be careful
though not to turn it off if a sighted person is helping you with the phone.
There is a simple gesture to turn it off and on but like everything else
with the phone, you have to be careful what you are doing.
