Enhancements in JAWS 13.0.718 (February 2012)
The following is a list of items addressed or added between the final JAWS 13.0.638 release and the JAWS 13.0.718 posting.

JAWS
•Resolved issues with the MLB, NBA, and NHL ResearchIt lookup sources not returning any results. •Updated the JAWS Help with the new layered keystroke for toggleing the Text Analyzer. The previous command, INSERT+SPACEBAR, T, now activates the Table Layer. Text Analyzer is now toggled using INSERT+SPACEBAR, A. •Resolved issues with JAWS not speaking on the LogIn screen after locking the computer or waking up from Sleep. •Resolved an issue with changes to the Scheme setting under the Say All Options group in Quick Settings not being saved correctly. •If Auto Forms Mode is disabled and the Virtual PC Cursor is located in an edit field when you perform a ResearchIt lookup, addressed an issue where Forms Mode was activated when you closed the Results Viewer and returned to the Web page. •The script functions GetSystemVolume, SetSystemVolume, and ChangeSystemVolume now work correctly in Windows 7. •Addressed multiple issues searching for specific topics using the Index and Search pages in the JAWS Help system.
Adobe Acrobat
•Resolved a reported issue where pressing ALT+DELETE was not reporting the correct cursor position as expected in some PDF documents.
IBM Lotus Notes
•JAWS no longer says "selected" twice when using the SPACEBAR to select messages in the Inbox or other folders.
Microsoft Access
•Addressed a reported issue where JAWS was not reading correctly when navigating in a data sheet. This only occured when using Microsoft Access in Windows XP.
Microsoft Excel
•When Braille Mode is set to Current Row or Current Column, increased the number of cells that may be shown on the braille display depending on how much content is in each cell. There now could be up to 20 cells displayed at one time depending on the size of the display. •Addressed issues where the List columns (INSERT+SHIFT+C) and List rows (INSERT+SHIFT+R) commands were not working as expected. •Resolved an issue where the closed or expanded state of a folder in the tree view of the Save As dialog box was not being indicated on the braille display. •Resolved an issue where setting a new monitor cell would erase previously defined monitor cells and place them all at the current cell. •When Cell Verbosity in Quick Settings is set to Content Only, addressed a customer reported issue where JAWS was not announcing cell coordinates as expected when selecting cells. •Addressed an issue reading a cell defined as a title if the cell data contained an ampersand character. •Resolved issues with the Totals Row and Totals Column options in Quick Settings not working as expected.
•Resolved issues with assigning manual title regions.
•JAWS is now much more responsive after deleting rows or columns from a large spreadsheet. Previously, JAWS would take several seconds to respond after deleting the data. •Improved the process for setting up monitor cells using Quick Settings. There are now 10 individual monitor cell options, 1 through 10, under the Monitoring Cells group. Pressing the SPACEBAR on one of these options will assign it to the currently selected cell in the spreadsheet. For more information, refer to the Monitor Cells in Excel help topic.
Microsoft Internet Explorer
•Addressed an issue where JAWS was not recognizing the <acronym> tag when used inside a <label> tag. •JAWS now announces the Required state of a form field when navigating using the ARROW keys. This was also addressed for Firefox. •Addressed a customer reported issue where JAWS was not reading the contents of list boxes on certain Web pages such as http://www.nkch.org/Job-145/Index.htm. •JAWS now recognizes the aria-hidden attribute so that text that is supposed to be hidden is no longer announced. •JAWS now announces the name of ARIA button menus, such as those found on facebook.com or Google.com, when navigating using the Navigation Quick Key B. •When downloading a file in Internet Explorer 9, JAWS will no longer continuously announce the notification bar as you navigate using the TAB key. •The Navigation Quick Key Delay option no longer resets back to 0 if it is changed through Quick Settings. •Addressed an issue encountered when running both JAWS and MAGic together where JAWS would unexpectedly close when attempting to paste text that was copied from an Internet Explorer 8 window.
Microsoft Office
•When quoted sentences are created in Microsoft Word and Outlook using the default smart quotes, resolved an issue where JAWS would read past the right quote instead of stopping at the end of the sentence when reading by sentence. •If you edited the last line of a paragraph in a Microsoft Word document or Outlook message, resolved an issue where moving by paragraph would no longer work until you perform the next or previous character command. •Removed references to Office 2003 from various INSERT+F1 help messages for Office 2007 and 2010.
Microsoft Outlook
•When navigating through the fields in a meeting request, resolved an issue where the contents of the field were not being read automatically. •JAWS no longer says "not selected" for each message while navigating the list of messages in Outlook 2007 under Windows XP.
Microsoft Word
•After adding a sentence to the end of a document, resolved an issue where the previous sentence command would no longer work. •In the Save As dialog box, resolved an issue where the selected folder in the tree view was not being shown on the braille display. •When a paragraph starts with a heading and then changes to another style, such as normal text, on the next line, the full paragraph no longer appears in the Heading List dialog box (INSERT+F6). Only the first line of the paragraph that contains the heading should be listed. •Changing the F1 Help option in Quick Settings now works as expected. When set to On and you are navigating through a form, JAWS indicates when a field contains an F1 help message. When set to Read with formfield is selected, the help content associated with the current field is read automatically without the need to press F1. When set to Off, F1 help for form fields is not indicated. •Resolved an issue with JAWS skipping several lines when atempting to move to the next sentence after inserting text into a bulleted or numbered list item. •Resolved an issue where using CTRL+UP ARROW to move to the previous paragraph was not working if another unit of movement, such as moving by character or word, was performed in the current paragraph. •After text is added to an existing sentence, resolved an issue where the ALT+NUMPAD 5 command would fail to read the current sentence until pressing LEFT or RIGHT ARROW, or performing a screen refresh (INSERT+ESC). •Resolved an issue where JAWS would say "blank" after each character typed into the edit field of the Find and Replace dialog box in Word 2003. •Resolved an issue where it was not possible to expand or collapse heading levels in Outline view. •Resolved an issue where JAWS would not automatically read while navigating in the Font edit combo with the Virtual Ribbons enabled.
Mozilla Firefox
•Addressed issues of JAWS not correctly reporting the font color.
•When downloading a file, JAWS now correctly reports the download percentage as it updates.
•JAWS will no longer announce hidden form controls in Firefox 8.0.
•Resolved an issue where changing the setting for Auto Forms Mode was not working when toggled through Quick Settings. •Addressed an issue encountered when running both JAWS and MAGic together where JAWS would unexpectedly close when attempting to paste text that was copied from a Firefox window. •Resolved an issue where the braille display was not showing the currently selected item in a menu as you navigate with UP or DOWN ARROW.
Mozilla Thunderbird
•Resolved an issue where the Virtual Cursor was being activated when replying to a message from the Inbox and the message was not opened.
Visual Studio
•Added a new keystroke, CTRL+SHIFT+SLASH, to speak the variable value when stopped at a breakpoint.
Windows Live Messenger
•If you select text that was entered into the input field of a conversation, addressed an issue where JAWS was not reading the selected text. JAWS would only say "selected" when performing a selection command.

•Resolved issues with the Research It sports scores lookup sources where the expected results were not being returned whether you entered a specific date or not. •Addressed an issue with the Wiktionary lookup source not returning a definition if searching for a word containing uppercase letters. •Resolved an issue with the Time Search lookup source for Research It only returning the list of time formats you can use, however no actual results for your search were returned. •Updated the JAWS Help system to make it easier for users to locate firewall and ILM multi-user network authorization information. Microsoft Internet Explorer
•When on the last line of a multi-line edit field and Forms Mode is not active, resolved an issue where pressing the END key would jump to the beginning of the field instead of the end of the line as expected. •Pressing INSERT+SHIFT+V no longer opens the Personalized Web Settings dialog box. You can configure personalized Web settings using Quick Settings (INSERT+V). •Resolved an issue where alt text in links was not being spoken when the Text Links Show option in Quick Settings was set to Title. •After using SHIFT+ENTER to open a link in a new window, when you close the window, focus now returns to the link you opened. Previously, JAWS would place you back at the top of the page.
•Resolved an issue with the Page Refresh option in Quick Settings.
Microsoft Outlook
•JAWS is now much more responsive when navigating messages in Outlook 2010 that contain graphics. •Resolved an issue where pressing ENTER on a button in the spell checker would not work unless you first used INSERT+3 to pass the keystroke through. Activating buttons with the SPACEBAR worked correctly. •Resolved reported issues of JAWS not reading reliably while navigating in the Calendar using the Day View. •When navigating text you are editing in the Signatures and Stationary dialog box in Outlook 2007 and 2010, addressed an issue where JAWS would not speak the phonetic or ASCII value when navigating by character, or spell the word when navigating by word.
Microsoft Word
•Resolved an issue where the pressed state of buttons in the Modify Styles dialog box were not being indicated in braille. •Resolved an issue where JAWS was not reading correctly when navigating in the Modify Styles dialog box. •JAWS is much more responsive when navigating by character over a graphic in Word 2003. •Addressed a customer reported issue with the laptop keyboard layout where pressing CAPSLOCK+N or CAPSLOCK+Y for the next or previous sentence was reading the sentence twice. •Addressed an issue where the Braille cursor dot pattern used when navigating in revised text, was being altered when changing the dot pattern for the standard Braille cursor. •When you move to a table using the List Tables dialog box (INSERT+CTRL+T), addressed an issue where JAWS was silent the first time you navigate to a cell. •Resolved an issue where JAWS was only indicating inserted and deleted text in a document when using Track Changes. JAWS now indicates all revisions in both speech and braille. •Resolved an issue in Word 2007 where JAWS was not announcing the selected style when navigating the Style Name edit combo box in the Apply Styles dialog box. The selected style was shown in braille. •When turning off Table Detection in Quick Settings, addressed an issue where JAWS was still indicating tables in a document.
Mozilla Firefox
•Resolved issues with using the END key to move to the end of text in a table cell. •Addressed issues of JAWS not recognizing graphics on certain Web pages, such as http://www.discogs.com. •Resolved an issue encountered on some Web pages where tables were shown on one line with Documentation Presentation set to Screen Layout. This was also observed on http://www.discogs.com. •Resolved a customer reported issue where JAWS was missing content on certain pages even though it visually was on the page.
Silverlight
•JAWS now reads column and row headers while navigating Silverlight grid controls.
Windows Live Mail
•JAWS now indicates the unread status of messages using both speech and braille.

•Resolved an issue encountered on some systems when updating authorization to JAWS 13. After updating authorization, you may need to restart JAWS in order for it to take affect. •Resolved a long-standing issue where it was sometimes necessary to reboot the computer in order to use JAWS if the application unexpectedly closed. •Resolved an issue where the braille cursor was not positioned as expected in edit fields when using Structured Mode. •The Primary and Secondary language for Convenient OCR can now be changed through Quick Settings (INSERT+V). •Documentation is now available describing the latest improvements in the JAWS scripting language. For more information, visit the Enhancements in Scripting Web page. •If more than one command prompt window is open, addressed an issue where JAWS would continue reading text from one command prompt window even after changing focus to the other. •Resolved an issue with Contracted English Braille translation where the number sign was not appearing directly before the number if the number was proceeded by a quote and a comma. •If the Results Viewer and Virtual Viewer are open at the same time, resolved an issue where pressing ESC would close both viewers. •Addressed an issue where JAWS was not playing a sound to identify checked items in some dialog boxes even if the current speech and sounds scheme was configured to do so. •Resolved an issue turning off the "read only" announcement in a speech and sounds scheme. •If you are using a braille display, JAWS no longer goes into Line Mode when renaming a file or folder. •In applications where JAWS can announce indented text, resolved an issue where JAWS was not speaking indentation information when using the Say Line command (INSERT+UP ARROW). •Pressing ALT+UP ARROW in the help text in Settings Center and Quick Settings now reads the prior sentence.

•The Study Mode option is now only available if you are using a braille display that has a double row of cursor router and navrow buttons, such as the PAC Mate Portable Braille Display, or the Focus 40, Focus 80, and Focus 40 Blue braille displays. Study Mode is located under Braille Options in Quick Settings. •The Current Word Expand option is now only available in Quick Settings when contracted braille translation is set to Output only. •In the Startup Wizard, the Enable Flash Messages check box and Contracted Braille Translation combo box now have INSERT+F1 help. •Addressed issues that could occur when installing JAWS 13 while JAWS 12 and MAGic 11 are currently running. •Resolved an issue where nothing is heard when navigating to a visited link and the current speech and sounds scheme is configured to play a sound.
JAWS Research It
•Resolved an issue where the Results Viewer was blank if Research It did not find any results for a search. A message is now displayed if no results are found. •The NCAA lookup source now returns all division 1-A scores and schedules. Previously, only the top 25 was displayed. In addition, if you search for a particular team, both division 1-A and 1-AA are searched. •Addressed issues with the Weather lookup source when checking the weather for international locations.

•Resolved an issue with JAWS not announcing edit combo boxes in certain PDF documents while navigating with the ARROW keys.

•Addressed an issue where Eclipse would unexpectedly close when opening and closing the menu.
Microsoft Excel
•When you press an access key in the spell checker to move to the next error, JAWS no longer speaks the access key you just pressed while reading the current error. •Addressed a reported issue in Excel 2003 and Windows XP where the Undo option was not working as expected. •Addressed an issue in Excel 2010 where JAWS would speak the tutor message each time an option in the Fill tab of the Format Cells dialog box was changed. This would occur even if Tutor Message was set to only announce custom messages. •Resolved an issue in Excel 2003 where the content of text boxes was not being displayed in the Virtual Viewer. There were only blank lines where the text in the box should have appeared. •Improved how JAWS reads cell information when pressing ESC after adding a comment. •Resolved an issue where the current cell was not read after pressing ESC to close the custom summary. •When navigating the color controls in the Fill page of the Format Cells dialog box, resolved an issue where JAWS was not properly reading the selected color.
•Resolved an issue setting column and row titles in Quick Settings.
Microsoft Internet Explorer
•Addressed an issue where JAWS would not indicate combo boxes on certain Web pages when navigating with the Virtual Cursor. •When selecting a same page link to move to a different location on the current page, pressing ALT+LEFT ARROW to go back now returns you to the link. •Resolved an issue with using TAB to navigate buttons contained inside Flash content. •When you press ENTER on a link in the custom page summary, JAWS now moves you to the correct location on the Web page. •Resolved an issue where JAWS would get stuck on words containing a left quote when navigating by word.

•Resolved issues navigating in Microsoft Office applications with Tutor Messages set to Custom.
Microsoft Outlook
•JAWS is now much more responsive when navigating in the Inbox in Outlook 2010.
•Navigation in the File menu in Outlook 2010 has been improved.
•Resolved a customer reported issue in Outlook 2003 where pressing NUMPAD 5 twice quickly to speak the current character phonetically was not working in the subject field of an appointment. •When pressing ALT+GRAVE to move to the message body and the first line of the message contains a link, JAWS no longer activates the link. •Addressed an issue in Outlook 2007 and 2010 using TAB to navigate to links in a read-only message. •Resolved an issue of hearing a system ding while navigating through messages in the Inbox. This occured if you had several consecutive messages from the same address. •Resolved an issue of hearing indentation information while navigating through links in a read-only message in Outlook 2007 and 2010. •If the edit combo box in the Find and Replace combo box contains text from a previous search, addressed an issue where the contents of this field were not being announced by JAWS when the dialog box opens. •When navigating by paragraph in an Outlook 2007 or 2010 message, JAWS no longer speaks the paragraph twice. •Addressed a reported issue in the Outlook 2010 calendar where the backstage view options were not being announced while navigating. •When deleting consecutive messages from the same sender, or that have the same subject, resolved an intermittent issue where JAWS would sometimes not automatically read the next message in the list. •Resolved an issue in the non-English version of Outlook where JAWS would unexpectedly close while navigating the calendar after setting an appointment after 23:00.
Microsoft Word
•Updated the INSERT+F1 help message for the Quick Access tool bar in Word 2007 and 2010. •Resolved an issue where JAWS was not correctly reporting the indentation level of the last line in a Word document. •Resolved an issue where after clearing the Word check box in the Manage Application Settings dialog box, JAWS would continue using any setting changes made in Quick Settings instead of reverting to default settings. •Resolved an issue where margin information was being reported differently depending on whether or not the cursor was in a table. •The Include Demensions option in Quick Settings has been renamed to Include Graphical Demensions to make it easier to find when doing a search. This option only appears when Quick Settings is opened from Word or Outlook. •Addressed an issue where page changes were not announced during a Say All until you pressed ALT+TAB to move away and back to the document. This only occured in Word 2007. •JAWS no longer incorrectly announces indentation information when encountering outdented text, such as in an outline. •Resolved a customer reported issue with the New Lines and Paragraphs Indication option in Quick Settings not changing based on whether paragraph marks are shown or not. When you enable or disable the displaying of paragraph marks in the Word Options dialog box, JAWS automatically sets the New Lines and Paragraphs Indication setting accordingly. •Addressed an issue where style changes were being announced after enabling spelling detection from Quick Settings. •Resolved an issue where Grammatical Error Detection was enabled when turning off Spelling Error Detection in Quick Settings. •Removed references to the Task Pane from the INSERT+F1 help messages for the Quick Access and Status Bar toolbar controls. •Resolved an issue with Quick Settings where changing Style Changes to Always Announce was not turning off the Headings Announce option. •Resolved an issue with the Spanish version of JAWS where JAWS messages containing accented characters were not read correctly in Word. •If you have customized the dot pattern for the braille cursor, addressed an issue where using Track Changes was changing it back to the default setting. •Pressing ALT+DELETE while in a table now provides more accurate cursor position information. •Resolved an issue in Word 2007 with JAWS not properly navigating tables until you used ALT+TAB to move away and back to the document. This occured when opening a document containing tables from Windows Explorer. •Resolved an issue where table navigation commands would no longer work after typing text into a table cell.
Mozilla Firefox
•The page title is now shown on the braille display when pressing INSERT+T even when you are positioned on a heading. Note that the currently selected heading is included with the title information. This was also addressed in Internet Explorer. •Toggling the Document Automatically Reads check box in Quick Settings now works as expected. When this option is cleared, JAWS will not automatically read the Web page after it loads.
Visual Studio
•Addressed an issue where you had to press ALT+TAB to move away from the application and back to get focus into the output window after starting a compile.
Windows 7
•Addressed an issue encountered after using ALT+TAB to move to the Desktop where JAWS would not announce the count of the selected item, for example, five of eight. Pressing INSERT+T would also not speak the window title. This did not occur if WINDOWS Key+M was used to go to the Desktop.
Enhancements in JAWS 13.0.303 (October 24, 2011)
The following is a list of items addressed or added between the final JAWS 13 public beta release and the JAWS 13.0.303 posting.

•Resolved an issue with the Wiktionary lookup source for Research It not returning any results when attempting to get the deffinition of a word. •If nothing is selected on the Desktop, addressed an issue where an item was still indicated as being highlighted in braille. •JAWS is now more reliable when navigating very complex PowerPoint slide show presentations. •Resolved an issue with Research It where the NHL lookup source was not showing results for the current day if no specific date was entered in the edit field. •Resolved an issue where the Braille cursor was not always at the same location as the PC cursor when editing a document in Microsoft Word with Track Changes enabled. •In Microsoft Excel, Pressing INSERT+NUMPAD 5 twice quickly now spells the current cell. •Resolved an issue in Eudora where JAWS was not automatically speaking the newly highlighted message after deleting the current message.
Enhancements in JAWS 13.0.241 (October 13, 2011)
The following is a list of improvements made between this release and the second public beta release.

JAWS
•Resolved an issue with all of the sports scores look up sources for Research It not returning any results.
•Resolved issues with the Stock Quotes Research It look up source.
•Resolved an issue selecting Mark Colors in Braille from the Run JAWS Manager dialog box where JAWS would use the Custom Highlight Assign instead. Selecting Mark Colors in Braille now works as expected. •You can now perform commands that include the SPACEBAR directly from a Focus braille display. For example, ALT+SPACEBAR to open the System menu, or INSERT+SPACEBAR to activate the JAWS keystrokes layer. •Updated the INSERT+W help message for the Webinar training room plug-in to remove references to keystrokes that are no longer supported. •If Quick Settings is open in another window, resolved an issue where pressing INSERT+V while in the JAWS window, the title of the Quick Settings dialog box was not getting announced as it gained focus. •Added long Keyboard Help messages for the list of onMouseOvers (INSERT+WINDOWS KEY+SEMICOLON), next clickable element (SLASH), prior clickable element (SHIFT+SLASH), and list of clickable elements (INSERT+CTRL+SLASH) keystrokes. To hear the long description for a command, press the keystroke twice quickly. •Added an Include Dimensions option to the General Options group in Quick Settings. When selected, JAWS will announce dimensions for graphics embedded in documents or Outlook messages where Word is the editor.
•Resolved an intermittent issue saving default settings in Settings Center.
•Resolved an issue where bullets were not displaying correctly in braille with certain documents opened in WordPad. •Addressed an issue with the Reuters Research It lookup source where only five stories were listed even though the results page says top 10 stories. Research It now lists all 10 stories. •When pressing BACKSPACE in an edit field of a Java application, JAWS now reads the character being deleted. •When opening the Select a Voice Profile dialog box (INSERT+CTRL+S), resolved an issue where the currently selected profile was not displayed on the screen.

•Addressed an issue of JAWS not reading section titles while navigating in a note.
Microsoft Excel
•The help messages that are spoken when entering or editing a formula are now also shown on the braille display as flash messages. •Addressed an issue with the Input message edit field in the Data Validation dialog box not being spoken and brailled correctly. •Resolved issues changing between manually defined column and row titles to automatically defined column and row titles determined in the Excel spreadsheet. •Resolved an issue in Excel 2007 and 2010 where the content of text boxes was not being displayed in the Virtual Viewer. There were only blank lines where the text in the box should have appeared. •When navigating the list of functions for inserting into a spreadsheet, addressed an issue where JAWS was not speaking or displaying in braille the function description.
•Addressed an issue with editing the contents of a text box.
•If you want to manually set column and row title reading, you no longer have to open the Quick Settings dialog box multiple times to configure these options. •If you add a hyperlink to another worksheet in the same spreadsheet, resolved an issue where JAWS would not announce the hyperlink if it was in a merged cell.

This was observed in Outlook 2010. •Resolved an issue in Outlook 2010 where the status of the check boxes was not being read in the tree view of mail folders when selecting the folders that you want to apply view settings to. •Resolved an issue where JAWS would begin reading the entire Inbox list instead of the currently selected item after moving to the Inbox from the Calendar using CTRL+SHIFT+I. •Resolved an issue where you could not perform the command to forward a message from the Focus braille display when in the message body. •When pressing INSERT+CTRL+I to read the info bar, resolved an issue where JAWS was announcing the info bar was empty even if it was not. •Resolved an issue where pressing CTRL+SHIFT+V to open the Move dialog box would not work from an open Outlook 2007 or 2010 message. •Addressed an issue with JAWS no longer reading correctly after updating the date field in an Outlook template. •Resolved an intermittent issue where text entered into the Search edit field in Quick Settings would not be correct if you attempted to type immediately after opening Quick Settings. •Resolved an issue where pressing ESC to close the Virtual Ribbon would completely close the menus, even if you were in a submenu. Now, if you are in a submenu, each press of the ESC key will move you up a level in the menus until you finally exit the ribbon. •Addressed an issue activating items in the Virtual Ribbons using the SPACEBAR.

They are ALT+COMMA to read the current cell, WINDOWS KEY+COMMA to read the current row, and WINDOWS KEY+PERIOD to read the current column. •JAWS now announces links in the Results Viewer when navigating using TAB or SHIFT+TAB. •Resolved an issue with the Amazon Product Search ResearchIt lookup source not returning any results. •Addressed an issue of no speech on the Windows logon screen if a Handy Tech braille display was connected. •You can now press H in addition to QUESTION MARK from within a layer to get help on layered keystrokes. Quick Settings
•In Windows 7, after you press the APPLICATIONS key on an item in the tree view to open the context menu to change the persistence level, resolved an issue where the braille display would only show the first item in the menu even though JAWS would speak the other options as you navigate. In addition, the check mark indicating the current persistence level for an option is now shown in braille. •Updated the INSERT+F1 help messages for the Search edit field and the tree view to provide more information specific to Quick Settings. •Toggling the Select and Copy option, located under the Virtual Cursor options, now works as expected when set to Virtual Cursor or Using On Screen Highlight.
•Added context help for the Last Changed Settings tree view item.

JAWS should only read the current cell. •Resolved an issue in the Categories list box in the Options dialog box where JAWS would occasionally speak the previous item before speaking the currently selected item while navigating with UP and DOWN ARROW. •When changing the Cell Verbosity option in Quick Settings to Content Only, JAWS no longer reads cell coordinates when selecting cells. •Resolved an issue in Quick Settings where toggling Comments Detection was being applied to all worksheets in the workbook instead of the currently active sheet. •Addressed an issue in Quick Settings with the Merged Cells Detection not being document specific.

This could cause JAWS to tie up two keys at a single work station. •Braille display controls, such as panning buttons and cursor routers, will now work in the UAK dialog box.
Windows Live Mail
•Improved JAWS support for the Windows Live Mail calendar. Appointments are now announced as you navigate in the Day, Week, and Month views.

•Pressing INSERT+F1 on an item on the ribbon now gives help specific to that option. •JAWS can now read files opened in Protected View in Microsoft Word and Excel. •Resolved an issue navigating Virtual Ribbons in Office 2010 with the CTRL+ARROW Keys. •Resolved an issue in Access 2007 where JAWS was not reading text in edit fields when navigating by character or word.
Microsoft Outlook
•Addressed an issue in Outlook 2010 when moving through the date and time fields in an appointment. Although JAWS would display the items in braille, it now speaks the fields too. •When creating a new meeting announcement in Outlook 2007, JAWS no longer announces additional information when moving to and reading the Location edit field. •Resolved an issue where the cursor would not move beyond the first line of an Outlook 2010 message. •In Outlook Web Access Light with Documentation Presentation Mode set to Screen Layout, resolved an issue where table rows were split over several lines. •Resolved an issue in Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010 where too much information was being presented when the spellchecker dialog box first gained focus. This has also been addressed in Microsoft Word. •You can now use INSERT+SHIFT+W to open an Outlook 2007 or Outlook 2010 message in the default Web browser. •Resolved an issue with JAWS announcing "message list view" when sending a message from the Contacts list. •Resolved an issue where JAWS would repeat text over and over after a Calendar reminder opened. •Addressed an issue where the entire line was not being read in a custom view in the Outlook 2010 Contacts folder.

Microsoft Word
•Resolved an issue where JAWS was announcing small bullet characters (INSERT+NUMROW 4) as space markers. This also fixed an issue where JAWS was not recognizing actual space marker characters. •JAWS can navigate and edit tables that are in the headers and footers of a Word document. •Addressed an issue in Word 2010 where JAWS was announcing multiple items instead of just one when moving through the Files of Type combo box in the File Open dialog box. •Resolved an issue in Word 2010 where JAWS was not announcing or displaying in braille the Tools menu that appears in such dialog boxes as Open and Save As.
•JAWS correctly announces the Copies edit box in the Word 2010 Print tab.
•Resolved an issue with braille where JAWS was not correctly displaying line spacing in documents. •Addressed an issue where JAWS would announce the previous search result instead of the next result when using the Find command in Word 2010. •Resolved an issue where JAWS was not announcing the correct indentation values in Word documents that contain multiple indentation levels. •Addressed an issue in Word where JAWS was announcing the number of spaces instead of tabs for indentation.
•Corrected a typo in the Adjust JAWS Options dialog box for Word.
•When navigating into a comment in a Word document, JAWS no longer announces “out of comment.” •Resolved an issue where, after changing the unit of measure in Word, JAWS was not announcing the unit of measure in a document. •Resolved an issue where the braille flash message was occurring too fast to display the new page number when changing pages in a Word document. •Resolved an issue where pressing ALT+F in Word 2010 would cause JAWS to close. •JAWS no longer announces the words “context menu” when moving through each item in a context menu list. •Addressed an issue where JAWS would announce the message “end of row” instead of “start of row” when moving to the first cell of a Word 2010 table. •Updated the help message for the Document Presentation option for both Word and Outlook. •Resolved an issue where braille no longer displayed table information after moving focus into a table. •Resolved an issue when pressing F6 to move among comment, endnote, and footnote panes. •Addressed an issue where the first instance of an item found using Find or Find and Replace was not announced. This was observed in Word 2007 and Word 2010.

•Resolved issues where navigating with the ARROW keys could become sluggish. This was especially noticeable when using Auto Correction, or after inserting footnotes, endnotes, or comments. •Resolved an issue in Word 2010 where pressing ENTER on the Indentation edit field in the Virtual Ribbon was not turning on Forms Mode. •When performing a find in Word 2010 and you press the SPACEBAR on the Next Search Result button, JAWS now automatically speaks the next result. •Addressed an issue in Word 2010 when navigating task pane dialog boxes containing multiple tabs. JAWS now indicates which tab is currently selected. •JAWS now supports the Browse Search Results tab in the Word 2010 Find dialog box. This allows you to navigate a list of all the matches for a search item and quickly move to a specific match in the document without having to go through each result one by one until you reach the one you want. •JAWS no longer says "entering table" when you press ALT+TAB or ALT+F4 and focus returns to the Word document where the cursor is already in a table. •In Word 2007 and 2010, JAWS now reads the column headers in the New Address List dialog box as you press TAB or SHIFT+TAB.

•When customizing dropped cap options, resolved an issue where JAWS was not automatically reading the font names while navigating through the list of fonts. •Resolved an issue with text becoming scrambled when typing contracted braille into a table. •Resolved an issue in Word 2007 and Word 2010 where JAWS would get stuck on the ribbon when adding or removing items from the Quick Access tool bar. Mozilla Thunderbird
•When an e-mail message is deleted, JAWS will now announce the next item in the Message list that has focus. •Resolved an issue where JAWS was not reading highlighted messages in the Message list. •Addressed an issue where it was not possible to select non-contiguous messages using CTRL+DOWN ARROW or CTRL+UP ARROW.
•JAWS now properly reads the message list in Mozilla Thunderbird 5.
•JAWS no longer says "table" while navigating through the message list in Thunderbird 5 or later. •When canceling a message, JAWS now automatically reads the confirmation dialog box. •Resolved an issue where the Virtual PC cursor would not turn off when replying to a plain text message.
•Addressed an issue reading the status line in Thunderbird 5.
•Resolved an issue where the keystrokes to read message fields were not working in Thunderbird 5.
Skype
•Resolved an issue with Skype where it would fail when adding a contact.
Windows 7
•Resolved an issue where JAWS would not speak or display in Braille the contents of the Windows 7 logon screen until TAB or SHIFT+TAB was pressed. •Resolved an issue with unnecessary characters appearing on the Braille display when focused on the Password edit field on the logon screen. This only occurred with contracted Braille enabled. •JAWS now automatically reads the text of the dialog box that allows you to force a currently running application to close.
Yahoo Mail
•Addressed an issue when composing a new message with Yahoo Mail and Internet Explorer 8. JAWS no longer speaks the entire page when focus moves to the Subject line. •Resolved an issue where pressing TAB would move you to a completely unexpected section of the page instead of to the next element in the tab order.
