Most DVD/VCR combo units will output DVD on RF.  Then there are the sets 
that do not have any sort of baseband video input, and for those sets an RF 
modulator is required.  I had to install on my In-Law's main set when they 
got a DVD player.  Actually, it was a combination RF modulator and four 
input baseband audio/video selector switch for their VCR, Satellite 
Receiver, and DVD player.  Because the DVD player output Macrovision, the 
trick of using the VCR as the moduator no worked as it did with the 
Satellite Receiver alone.
