In my continuing quest for an AM/FM IBOC stereo tuner, I have discovered (actually my wife discovered) this brand new product from Radio Shack: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2460834&cp It's a table-top HD radio, considerably less expensive than any of its competition, at $174.99. One thing I want to point out: isn't it strange how we are satisfied with a price like this for a decent quality table top radio, or even closer to $200 for a decent quality hifi AM/FM tuner, and yet anything approaching these prices is considered too expensive for HDTV tuners? It's odd. Also wanted to report that I asked NAD whether they have any product in the pipeline like the Sangean HDT-1 IBOC AM/FM tuner. NAD is a hifi audio company that offers very good stuff at very reasonable prices. They replied that they are following IBOC very closely, but that the criticial components needed for IBOC have not yet reached the price level they want. In my view, they would probably do well to rebrand the Sangean product.
