Comcast Launches Discovery Channel Programming in High Definition, ON DEMAND

New Content Enhances Leading HDTV, ON DEMAND Lineups

PHILADELPHIA, July 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Comcast, the nation's leading 
cable and broadband provider, announces the addition of Discovery HD 
Theater to the area's most robust HDTV lineup. Discovery HD Theater 
is available on channel 186.

With HDTV service, Comcast Cable subscribers can experience Discovery 
HD Theater, Discovery Networks' 24-hour HDTV channel featuring 
favorite shows like Trading Spaces, Arctic Mission and The Jeff 
Corwin Experience, as well as original specials and documentaries in 
a crystal-clear HDTV format, all at no additional charge to digital 
cable. Discovery HD Theater is one of 14 HDTV channels currently 
available from Comcast Cable. In order to receive HDTV channels, 
customers must own an HDTV-compatible television set.

Additionally, Comcast Digital Cable customers will be able to select 
from more than 70 hours of programming from Discovery Networks U.S. 
each month through ON DEMAND from Comcast. ON DEMAND, which is not 
available through a satellite provider, offers more than 1,500 hours 
of news, movies and local programming with new content added weekly.
