you have my OK for a new release. 

I hope not to have introduced new bugs with the latest changes.

The pattern thing is implemented as announced by Daniel
on the OBOS main mailing list ;)

pdflib.so in the repository is 4.0.2 for Intel. I have not made
the one for PPC, because "I can't because I did not want" to
quote Phoebe in episode 1 of "Friends" (translated back from
German).

Note, the README file is not updated.
