http://www.advogato.org/article/646.html is an interesting read. It says that
phpnuke and phpbb are broken applications.

What is a good PHP based slashdot style or bulletin board style application?

The http://horde.org/ suite looks exciting. My email provider (spamcop.net)
uses their IMP mail user agent. It seems rock solid.

From http://www.horde.org/imp/:
"The University of Pennsylvania has conducted an extensive Webmail Evaluation in
which they tested the most popular webmail clients against a wide range of
criteria. Their testing concluded that IMP is the best product for deployment on
their academic network, outscoring all of its competitors."

Sounds impressive! Is the Horde suite and application framework worth
learning?

Looking forward to seeing you on Thursday!
