This bug also appears to be present in Chocolate Doom and is likely present in Vanilla Doom. It may be desirable to make preserving this bug optional. The player is standing in a sector with F_SKY1 ceiling texture and shoots at a wall that's formed by a sector with a higher floor and lower ceiling than the sector the player is standing in. The linedef of the wall should be facing away from the player. I have attached a screen-shot of a sample map that exhibits this bug.
