It looks like this is a vanilla bug that is fixed in our co_zdoomphys code. 
With co_zdoomphys disabled, the players can sometimes strafe past a teleporter
line but with co_zdoomphys enabled, they can not.  This seems to match my
(brief) testing with ZDoom.
