This morning I flushed an odd dove from my feeder. It looks like a Mourning Dove (and probably is), in most respects; body size and shape, tail shape, etc. But the tail, and I think, rump, are almost rufous in color. And when it flies, it doesn't sound like a Mourning Dove. I certainly have never seen a Mourning Dove like that before. Have I just missed something by not looking at them carefully? So far I have only seen it perched above me in a tree where I could not get real good looks at it. I will see if it comes back to the feeder and try to get a picture of it.
