About 20 years ago a Black Swift flew over my place in Carver in the middle
of the day
(it was July as I recall). It was also unmistakable. Oddly, a single
Black Swift was
reported from Sauvie Island on that the same day. Mine was flying in that
direction, (40 miles away!).

bird soaring and giving a few swift like jittery wing beats as it passed
overhead and then was lost over the lake.
Seems like an odd time of year...could not turn it into a Vaux's or
swallow species.
