a large arc to dump it. The sizeable youngster in the nest gets a changing
view as the nest is taken for a ride on the crane. It's not at the
tippy-top of the crane, but lower down with a big pulley and cables at work
directly under the nest. One of the parents was consuming a fish nearby on
top of a telephone pole next to Honeyman Road. The nest is visible from the
sharp corner on the north end of the Honeyman loop. There's a berms hiding
the bottom of the crane, but the nest is easily visible. It's a good corner
to stop (has a pullover) and look for hawks and owls in the fields while
you are there. The crane doesn't operate on Sundays or late in the evening.
I'm not sure about Saturdays.
