Another good access for Black Scoter viewing is 68th St. in Newport. It is about a mile south of Moolack Beach. This is the spot where the female King Eider wintered. The big Black Scoter is usually just off the beach just a little north of this unmarked beach access. It is a poorly marked gravel road that runs right down to the beach with room for about a half dozen cars at bottom.
