Well technically, the bird would not be banded, since it already is. But I certainly get your drift. I have no plans for catching anything at all, let alone a feathered thing. I'm assuming that the statute of limitations (at least) has run out for my childhood exploits. The following rant DOES NOT refer directly to bird sightings. : PSU's email system was quite literally 'taken over' by Google a few years ago, in spite of deeply felt objections by many, especially me. You'd think Google could do a decent job with an email system but their method of daisy chaining successive thread components is really screwed up. From what I see it's hard to see what happens to a thread that is partially posted to OBOL and partly a reply to an individual threader. For instance, I replied to a comment (more succinct than Dan's) from Alan regarding crawling over broken glass to get a banding permit. but I don't see Alan's comments here so my reply to Alan appears totally out of context. And that's how my email appears. I have no idea what other OBOL members see. It's way past time for Google to streamline their 'motto' by removing the first of their three words. But that's just my opinion. And I have no doubt that, via this email, Google is already quite aware of my position; so I won't bother to include Them specifically in the thread..
