A few visitors to the Yaquina Head peregrine falcon eyrie have asked for
updates to be posted. Sadly, the news is that one of the fledglings died
today. One of its siblings went to Chintimini Wildlife Center in Corvallis
this morning and is reportedly expected to recover from malnutrition and
dehydration. The other two are still hanging in there but there has been no
sign of step-dad so they have not had food today (at least as of
mid-afternoon when I was last was there.) Over the past few days, there
have been repeated attacks by the 2 year old peregrine, as well as crows,
adding insult to injury.
I truly wish the news was better.
