All winter long I've had a couple dozen evening grosbeaks at my feeders. They're
here most of the day, every day. We just moved to Troy little over a year ago
so, this is only my second winter season feeding the birds here. I didn't get
them last winter. Also, this isn't a case where I fed them the most excellent
chow all summer and they decided to stay. I saw only the occasional e. g.'s
during the fall, and I don't feed in the summer because I'm in AK. They just
showed up one day in mid-December (when the weather turned bitter cold) and have
been here every day since. So, I'm wondering how strange this is, if at all.
