Yesterday I saw a Spotted Towhee in our yard that had the coloration of an
adult but had no tail. Does it take awhile for Towhees to grow their tails
after fledging? It seemed rather on the small side for an adult and reminded me
of a young bird yet it had the adult plumage. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
