Folks,

We drove up to Hillsboro this morning after the rain. Within minutes of arriving at 11:15 we found the RUSTY BLACKBIRD in the north end of the parking lot, puttering around with Brewer's and Red-wings, picking up tidbits. We also met George Neavoll, who had found it an hour earlier.

On the pond right east of the library we spotted a very RUSTY female EURASIAN WIGEON, the "rufous morph" shown in the National Geographic Guide. A striking bird.

Nice park!

Good birding, everyone,

Paul Sullivan & Carol Karlen
