Today I visited the southern portion of the Fern Ridge wildlife complex east of
Veneta.
Swallows were scattered in the air throughout the area. They were primarily
Tree and
Violet-green Swallows, with two Barn Swallows and a Cliff Swallow mixed in.
Birds in general, other than swallows, were in short supply.
The most unusual bird I found was a WRENTIT. It was in the weedy tangle on the
northeast side of the Coyote Creek Bridge on Cantrell Road.
