With a little curiosity and a lot of sunshine I walked out to the end of Royal
Ave out at Fern Ridge to see if it was still there. The answer is yes it is,
but not on the tern island today. It was much farther out near the water line
to the west. It was just south of the old road bed sitting inside a clump of
stumps/logs about 250-300 yards beyond the point where the water flow in the
ditch crosses the road making further walking impossible without hip boots. It
can be seen with binoculars but much better with a scope.
