While others got their state bird Common Eider someplace else, I spent about 3 hours along Rentenaar Rd on Sauvie Island this morning. The Harris's and Clay-colored Sparrow both continue in the same area they were previously reported. A single White-throated Sparrow showed off very nicely as well in the willow at the intersection. Sora and Virginia Rail were calling from the wet meadows further up the road. It is mind-blowing how conditioned the Golden-crowned Sparrows at this intersection are. If you stand still for a while, they will almost hop on your boots. The further away from the intersection you get, the more normal they behave. Stefan SchlickHillsboro, OR
