Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday June 11. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at
503-233-3976.

On June 7 a COMMON GROUND-DOVE was photographed at Cape Blanco. An OVENBIRD
was on the North Spit of Coos Bay June 8. A MAGNOLIA WARBLER was seen June 7
at Cooper Mountain Park in Beaverton. On June 3 a ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK was
at Pistol River. The next day one was near Creswell. A CLAY-COLORED SPARROW
was on Yaquina Head May 31. Another was with a BREWER¹S SPARROW at Howard
Prairie east of Ashland July 5. On June 10 a WHITE-WINGED DOVE visited a
feeder in Scappoose.

On May 31 a ROCK WREN was near Cannon Beach. Another was singing from the
South Jetty of the Columbia River June 2, and another was on Yaquina Head
June 9. NIGHTHAWKS arrived during the week at Malheur NWR, Coos County,
Eugene, Minto Brown Park in Salem and over Mt. Tabor Park in Portland.
RED-EYED VIREOS were reported during the week from Dorris Ranch in
Springfield and on Sauvie Island at the Wapato Greenway and the north end of
Reeder Road.

On June 9 a MOCKINGBIRD was at the South Jetty of Yaquina Bay. Two BLACK
SWIFTS were seen June 6 over Cascade Head. A SABINE¹S GULL was at Vancouver
Lake June 6 but did not remain. On June 10 a RED-NECKED PHALAROPE, a
PECTORAL SANDPIPER, a WESTERN SANDPIPER, and a GREATER YELLOWLEGS were at
Ridgefield NWR. An ASH-THROATED FLYCATCHER and a GREATER YELLOWLEGS were at
the Tualatin NWR June 9. A BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER was seen June 10 on Larch
Mountain east of Portland. On June 7 a SNOWY EGRET was at Fern Ridge
Reservoir.
