We have a Western Screech Owl that is nesting for the second year in a row. It has been occupying our Wood Duck nesting box for the last two weeks. The box faces to the west and on sunny days it seems to poke it's head out for several hours in the late afternoon and enjoys the sunshine. On clouding days it seems to poke it's head out of the box after sunset during twilight. We can hear two of the owls calling back and forth during the night. We hope to see a baby or two poking their heads out soon. We live in the country on a property with lots of trees east of Salem in the Macleay area. Click on link below for photos.
