Yesterday morning May20th. I went to Baskett Slough NWR and photographed
several species of birds. I posted the Bald Eagle photos eating a large
carp fish earlier today. I saw Streaked Horned Larks where you turn from
highway 99 onto Coville Rd. about 100 ft. down Coville Rd. on the north
side and also on Livermore Rd. The Black-necked Stilts were at the narrows
on Coville Rd. on the south side. The Turkey Vultures were on the island
on the north side of Coville Rd. at the narrows. The Vultures were
cleaning up the leftovers from the Carp that the Bald Eagle was eating
earlier. Also had a Red-winged Blackbird chasing a Great Blue Heron. Also
photographed a Ring-necked Pheasant, Cinnamon Teal Pair, Common Yellow
throat singing and a Brewer's Blackbird with some food. Lots of bird
activity at Baskett that day. Click on link below for photos. Happy
Birding, Jim Leonard.
