Yaquina Head, 2 Ruddy Turnstones, 30+ Black Turnstones in the rocks off
the stairway to Cobble Beach. Black Oystercatcher of course. Peregrine
attending the nest area. Burrowin g Owl has been gone a while, perhaps
tending a nest to the east.
Nye Beach walk, 3 Sanderlings in breeding plumage, a few Leasts and
Westerns mixed in with several large flocks of Dunlin, several
Semipalmated Plovers, 3 Black-bellied Plovers. No larger shorebirds on
the beach yesterday. Haven't been looking yet today. Beautiful days at
the coast but windy afternoons.
