One or more GREAT EGRETS are currently frequenting the estuarine waters of
the Neawanna and Necanicum streams in Seaside, Clatsop County. Steve
Warner reported two MARBLED GODWITS in company of the persistent staging of
the WILLET off the high school over park on the Necanicum. RED-SHOULDERED
HAWK (S) were observed in riparia by the Seaside hospital and along hwy101
on the south side of town near the Relief Pitcher (said by some to serve
the best burger in town, but I always go to Sam's on Broadway)

Rare and expected passerines are swarming all appropriate habitats that I
glance, but I have been too busy with projects to go birding. A
WHITE-THROATED SPARROW showed up in the yard of the home we are trying to
close on last week.

Mike Patterson kicked up likely CHESTNUT-COLLARED LONGSPUR on a dunegrass
trail during a survey on private property between Gearhart and Camp Rilea
today. This is right on time for this rare but regular transient along our
coastal strip.

Bird on,

David C. Bailey
