Hi Bob,
Large flocks of Semipalm Plovers are fairly regular on the south coast with
flocks of 200+ not too unusual at Bandon Marsh. The largest
early August flock at Bandon Marsh I know of was 500+ birds (A. Contreras,
2002). Spring flocks are regularly that large with perhaps the largest
flock ever in Oregon at 2500 on May 2 in 2013 (Lauten and Castelein) also
at Bandon Marsh.
